Butterflies

Take notes my friend, and do as you please,
for butterflies can be killed with the quickest of ease,
This may sound stupid, it might sound absurd,
but let me paint a picture using nothing but words.

Butterflies are fragile, simple and small,
but with only one wing they are able to fall,
They don't come in one, they come in all colours,
but just seeing one of them doesn't make it summer.

We catch them by chance, hold them in our hands,
and let go when we want them to find new land.
We admire their routine in the sun-shining day,
and feel nothing but sadness when they fly away.

Now back to business, what I said at the start,
compare the butterfly to the love in our hearts,
yes, the two are different but make no mistake,
love falls like a butterfly when one half breaks.
